It is a hidden gem (only not so much) in Traverse City! Please, please, please, if you are in town stop here. If you live in Traverse City and haven't been here yet, then get your butt down there!
Patisserie Amie is a quaint restaurant located right as you're entering the downtown Traverse City area. The owner named the Patisserie after his wife, staffed by about two or three people a day, and the food is beyond excellent. (They offer catering as well.) They specialize in French patisserie cuisine (obviously): crepes, specialty coffeehouse drinks, soups & sandwiches, omelets, waffles, artisan breads, croissants, chocolate desserts, and the best hot chocolate in Traverse City. It's refreshing to see the regulars get up and get cream or placements for the new diners, and always with a smile. It's a very friendly atmosphere.
Not only do they serve breakfast, but they also serve full course French style dinners, but be prepared because they are always booked. Yes, they take reservations for dinner, because every weekend their tiny little patisserie is packed with regulars and newcomers alike. If you want to taste the goodness, (and trust me, you do) call and book your weekend dinner reservation at least two weeks in advance.
As for breakfast, if you're going midweek, the wait isn't long. If you'e going on the weekend, especially Sunday, get down there early.
If any of you are thinking it's just not worth the wait I will correct you now. You're wrong. I'm so impatient in general, but it is so worth it.
Look at the pictures if you don't believe me. I'll certainly be adding more when I go back.
