Ultimate New York Style Cheesecake

This is an oldy but goodie often called McCalls, Supreme, Ultimate, LIndy's, or New York style Cheesecake and various recipes appear over the years , some either using a pastry cookie crust or graham cracker crumbs.
I just made this for New Years with a strawberry topping plus some crushed candied walnuts to add my unique touch. It makes a tall impressive cheese cake. I bypass the crust part. Enjoy and Happy New Year

Carnegie Deli Cheese Cake

The recipe appears on the Carnegi Deli web page and all over the Net

So I researched blogs to see if people made this. Yes it's very good but not like the kind you eat at the deli. I have had the experience to eat there on several occasions on my trip to NYC. and try the cheesecake
From what poster on blogs write, Todd Wilburs secret recipe comes much closer to the original recipe than that on their web page!

By the way, the cheese cake they serve you is giagantic, about 4 inches high , creamy, not overly sweet but dense and just wonderful
The recipe posted below produces an average size and delcious cheesecake. So here is the recipe for your perusal. Look up Todd Wilburs recipe also.

Note: Go to the Carnegie deli Web site and see a photo of the Chef holding the plain cheescake!

Also Thank You and photo credit to James Wu who took photo of the cheescake served at the deli!

Slightly Soused Seeded Sourdough

Whole grain cereal, sunflower seeds and dried fruit get a tad tipsy on Grand Marnier before being kneaded into a whole wheat and rye sourdough and baked to crispy perfection! Raisin bread just won't seem the same anymore.
I was inspired by a Wild Yeast recipe I saw http://www.wildyeastblog.com/2
009/12/06/fruit-and-nut/ for a fruit and nut studded sourdough loaf taken from the book "Bread Matters". Since I had a ton of random ingredients to use up and a starter to refresh anyway, I modified Susan's ingredients but kept her basic method to create this delicious, hearty loaf.

Dresdner Stollen

A fruit cake/bread loaf filled with candied fruits and nuts esp baked for Chritmas- dense, moist and delcious
This is a very old fashioned German family recipe handed down and translated from the poster

Preparing authentic stollen takes time.

It's posted here for your perusal and enjoyment

Black On Black Brownies

An unlikely cast of characters here - black beans, blackened bananas, stevia extract and no flour! Don't be put off by the weird list, though -these things are fudge to the extreme and absolute heaven on a plate.

Banana Rocher Bars

Good ol' Nutella is at it again - this time I turned the decadent combination of the chocolate-hazelnut spread and sweet, creamy bananas into a panful of chewy, almost brownie-like bars. Vanilla yogurt and a touch of milk keep things nice and tender!

Almond Marzipan Cake

I love this little danish sweet mazipan like cake recipe. It is crispy on the outside and sweet, moist and dense on the inside. You can cut in into wedges if baked in a cake pan or slices if baked in a lorea
