Fizzy Fruit Drink

Another recipe from the cook book I made when I was 11 years old. As you can see, the 11 year old mind is interesting. I'm going to write it out just as it's in the book, but I think there are easier ways you could put this together.

Mock Champagne

This is from Arlene Oltman, my good friend in Pasadena. She was one of the many wonderful ladies that "adopted" me when I moved out to California to marry my husband. We had this for our wedding, along with fresh squeezed lemon aide.

Basil Lime Fizz

Because basil has mint and peppery undertones, this drink is reminiscent of a spanish mojito...without the alcohol. I drink a lot of water and absolutely no soda. Sometimes I get bored with the typical lime Perrier or lemon slices to plain water. Imagine a hot summer with a tall, cold glass of bold basil and tart citrus. The flavours compliment one another in an amazingly exotic and refreshing drink. I don't like American sodas...they're too sweet for my palate. I much prefer something with an interesting complexity such as this. Enjoy.
