Honey Almond Macaroons

A delicious not-too-sweet version of classic French-style almond macaroons made with fragrant orange zest and honey. Make your own almond flour by grinding whole raw almonds (easy to do in a blender or coffee grinder) for even better flavour and nutrition. I absolutely love these cookies!

Apricot-Sage Cookies

Best in Show, 2004 I had a lot of trouble with this cookie. The dough a bit crumbly and I had to add more milk to get it to stick together. Also, even with chilling, rolling it to 1/8-inch thick was tough; I ended up making it thicker and had to bake them longer (10 to 11 minutes). The cookie more than makes up for the extra effort because they are pretty to look at and the flavor is unexpected. Really delightful with champagne. “Cookies for Christmas” by Jennifer D. Darling (Meredith Books, 1999)

Mexican Chocolate Ice Cream

This is a very simple recipe to make a good chocolate ice cream with a hint of cinnamon. An ice cream maker is not required to make this dish. This recipe originally comes from Eagle Brand with a small twist or two to make the ice cream more appropriate for the adult palette.

Chocolate Cake Hungarian Style

Snazzy dessert to serve your cake-loving friends. Light and tasty, this easy layered cake with whip cream and chocolate glaze is an impressive dinner-party dessert. When we were kids, my mom used to make it for very special occasions. We adored it ~ recently had it for Thanksgiving and it still hits the mark.
