Walnut Filling For Cookies Or Strudel Hungarian

Who can best tell the tale than the cook herself:
..."Walnuts grow in abundance in Hungary. Walnuts are used in most nut studel recipes, kipfels, and nut cookies. The baked in a recipe walnut flavor is very different from the toasted walnut flavor. It is a more delicate and buttery flavor that lends itself to Hungarian pastries. You can never have enough walnuts on hand. Be sure you buy fresh walnuts, they can go rancid if old. Store them in the freezer or refrigerator. Always taste your walnut before using them in a recipe. You can avoid a disaster if they are rancid.
This is the same filling for Walnut Strudel but halved.
Regards, June Meyer."

Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge

This is a delicious fudge recipe that I found in 2005 in a Woman's Day magazine. Its a layered candy and starts with a brownie mix. These make a lovely gift for the holidays and will hold their own in a holiday gift basket. You can make them now and freeze them for when you need them! Happy Holidays, All!

Vodkolada Aka The Rum-less Pina Colada

This is an alternative to the rum based Pina Colada. It's a little more complicated but, still a very good substitute. :) Hope you enjoy it.

Vegetarian Mulligatawny Soup

Being brutally cold now, I adapted several soup recipes to my liking to make a large pot of vegetarian Indian soup.
Truley delicious, and if one wants to make it meat based, use chicken broth and add some chopped cooked Indian flavored or spiced chicken to the finished soup recipe
Serve with my posted Indian chickpea salad and some Indian bread and you'll have a splendid meal!
I also posted another soup version that is made in the slow cooker and also delcious but different!
