Crab Slaw

The cole slaw was made first, yesterday at my nephew's 3rd birthday party. His grandmother had a food processor and I hijacked it. When I got sent home with the leftovers, (I'm a food poacher, what can I say) I added the rest of the ingredients and made this awesome salad out of it. I mean, this slaw was so jammin', I just had to share it with you.

Slammin Onion Dip

This is a great start to set the stage for an even better meal, and ideal for parties. Have trouble getting your kids to eat veggies? I've got your answer right here! This recipe is blatantly stolen from my ex's mom, who drove me to distraction. But DAMN, could that woman cook.

Grandma Downs Veggie-beef Soup

My Mom used to make this on basketball nights when I was in high school, because it had cooked most of the day and was a quick dinner for all of us to have before we had to leave for the game. One time she made it when we were all going into town to see Gone With The Wind. We rushed into town to see that long movie (a real treat) and during intermission, she told dad she thought she left the soup on the heat. He had to drive all the way out to the country to turn off the stove. I was only five years old, but I remember it well.
