Make Mom Cry Cheesecake

Remember the first cheesecake you baked? I do. It can be found right here: http://www.grouprecipes.com/84703/put-the-fork-down-and-back-away-from-the-cheesecake.html
Well, I got a little creative for my Mother's 85th birthday, and this is the result - a couple of different flavors, all in the same medium. ENJOY !

Easy Grilled Veggies

Barbequeman is pacing back and forth, wondering when he will get to grill without snow !!! So, in honor of that first melting, I offer this dish. You will need to purchase a BBQ Wok ( a metal pan with small holes ) in order to make this come out well without losing half the veggies off the grill '-) A family favorite.....and healthy too !

How Many Californians Would Eat This Seafood Sauce

Sigh....

I put this together for a Christmas Party a few years ago when I realized I needed something 'jazzy' for a pasta sauce ! It has been through several iterations, and frankly, I would expect you to experiment with the types of seafood in the sauce, based on your taste. Just last evening, I topped some tiny sirloin medallions with this sauce - well received, this sauce is pretty versatile.... Enjoy !!!

Yellowstone Potatoes Au Gratin

This is a recipe I invented on the fly whilst doing our annual Father's day outing in Yellowstone. Elected "Camp Chef", I was tasked with providing a reasonable meal for 8 hungry dudes in the mountains, with only an hour to prepare..... Yeah, I know, I should have gotten in the car earlier.... Oh, by the way, please remember that almost ALL of the ingredients are pre-prepared (ie: canned) and will suit any campsite. Try them in your home? Why not ??? Just don't let on to your guests !!! smirk !

Simple Pleasures Dessert Coffee

This is a dessert coffee that I discovered in a now defunct restaurant in SLC, Utah. As a former bartender, drinks of this nature deserve a second glance. Trust me, you and your guest will enjoy ! Oh, if you're worried about the alcohol content, cut the rum in half - it will still light, and the beverage will taste great !

Put The Fork Down And Back Away From The Cheesecake

This is a cheesecake I stole from one of those grocery store "free cookbooks" whilst shopping for a Christmas party one year. Put out by McCormick and Company (spices), the book, copyright 2002, is entitled Flavors of the Season. As any cook would do, after a number of parties, I altered the recipe.....

Officially Annoyed At Myself

All I can say is that I had invited a guest over to sample the Ribs Baby recipe by Shecooks4u, only to find I had left my grill on the night before, and drained an almost full propane tank dry.....Apologies to Shecooks4u for using my backup grilling system.....narrative follows '-)

Spiral Sliced Party Ham

This is a dish that I prepare annually for Christmas. I use a round chafing dish to keep the ham warm, and usually find very few leftovers....

The ham is part of a buffet that includes other dishes, which I will share on a menu sometime later....

Pair this with my garlic bread, a veggie tray and another entree or two and you have the beginnings of a great party where you can relax and enjoy your guests !

Want easy cleanup? Buy at least 3 round chafing dishes for your hot food, some clear plastic plates and cutlery from Sam's Club or Costco or your local supply house, and simply show your guests where the line begins....

Better Than Sex Garlic Bread -

This is a simple bread that goes excellent with pastas, salads, buffets or any event when you wish to have a starch other than rice or beans. When you have the urge for lots of garlic butter, this fills the bill ! The name came when I heard the exclamation: "This is almost better than sex!" Naturally, I smiled and took the compliment - and still a bit unsure what to do, I humbly publish this recipe !!!

Ceviche

Found this recipe in Canada, at a small out of the way restaurant. While the chef wouldn't reveal all his secrets, I've made a few changes from the original recipe on that cocktail napkin '-) The Pico De Gallo recipe will be left up to you, since you probably have your own FAVE salsa !
