Bubble And Squeak

This is pure English comfort food, mention it to us and look for the wistful misty eyed look. The odd name comes from the noise it makes cooking. Usually served with cold meat (left over from a roast) and a fried egg on top

Turron Ice Cream

Yummy and different ice cream. I often use hard turron (duro or Alicante) because I like the crunchiness mixed with smooth ice cream. Italian torrone is the same stuff and what I tend to use as its easier to get hold of, French nougat is also similar. If you are feeling really lazy, just soften some very good vanilla ice cream and stir in the turron and pop back in the freezer to firm up. Great with choclate lake pudding

Chocolate Lake Pudding

This is correctly called a chocolate fondant, a classic dessert, with soft sponge around a rich moussey liquid centre. We have this at Christmas instead of traditional pudding. This is super easy but has lots of rest periods so must be started the day before you intend to serve it . Top class chocolate pudding, rich and not too sweet. Very impressive for a dinner party and great for you at its best made in advance. I have made these a couple days before cooking without any problems. Credit must go to the great Jean Christophe Novelli for this one. Serve with turron ice cream or creme chantilly. I really urge you to try this.

Toffee Apple Cider Cake

Serve warm with lashings of fresh cream. Gorgeous cinnamon cider sponge, then sharp apple covered in a mix of gooey and crunchy toffee. It may not be the most beautiful cake but the taste makes up for it!
I have given the US translation where I can.
