French Carrot Salad

Adapted from orangette.blogspot.com - I loved to take this to school with me. It's really good with a sandwich at lunch or with fish for dinner.

Chickpea Chard And Tomato Stew

Adapted from Cooking Light. I had to spice it because it was bland. I added tumeric and red chile pepper, fresh cilantro and parsley. I also used Rainbow Chard for color.

Greek Style Limas

I love Lima beans but unfortunately there are few recipes out there that don't involve soup or Veg-all.
I found this at Orangette who adapted it from a Gourmet magazine recipe. It's excellent. Be sure to have good bread to dunk in the sauce the beans are in.

French Leek Pie

I found several versions of this on the internet and decided that I didn't need to use the very expensive Gruyure or Emmental cheese. I just used an inexpensive Swiss cheese and rather than light cream I used heavy cream.
I think I might try some other things with this basic recipe. Chicken or Ham would be tasty, as would trying other spices.

Blackberry Barbecue Sauce

When it's blackberry season and you need to do something with the insane amounts of berries you have in your yard you find new things to do with them.
This recipe is adapted from one I found on the internet. It calls for 1/2 blackberry preserves, but I made up a blackberry compote sort of mixture with about 4 to 6 cups of berries (I was trying to make jam and failed) and 3 cups of sugar. I made a huge bunch of sauce with it.
