Grand Marnier French Toast With Orange Butter

The recipe for Grand Marnier French Toast is as Good, if not Better, then any restaurant will serve. From the first bite, orange, baked butter, chewy, crunchy, maple, not-overly-sweet but sweet enough, flavorful that keeps adding layers of flavor as you chew. Delicious and elegant yet easy and down home.

Shandy Style Potato Salad

If you leave the potato skins on, you have old fashioned potato salad and if you take them off, well, you have my flavor for potato salad. This is my personal recipe. I make this potato salad to remind me of my Mom, when I am homesick to see her; remind me of myself, when I need a pick-me-up; and show my family how much I care year round.

English Muffins

English muffins are so easy, I had no idea. We start with a yeast dough that is soft and soupy, let this rise until the dough collapses on itself, add another 2 cups flour and 3 T. soft butter, knead the dough a little, cut with muffin rings "or" use empty and clean cans cut into thirds. Just be careful of the edges. I bought my English muffin rings at a local kitchen store but the tin circles can be easily purchased online at King Arthur Flour. You let the dough rise in the rings and bake on a hot griddle until golden brown on both sides.

Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake With Cornmeal Crumble Crust

The blueberry sauce, studded with whole berries, combined with the distinct lemon flavor of the cream cheesecake made for happy tastebuds and great flavor! The cornmeal crust takes the cheesecake to a whole new flavor level and is perfect together! The recipe came from The Sweet Melissa Baking Book but I changed the coarse cornmeal called for to regular gring cornmeal.

Lip Smakin BBQ Sauce

The sauce has citrus and peach flavors with undertones of seasonings and smoke that takes BBQ to another level. Try not to be too sidetracked with the list of ingredients because, combined, the sauce works amazing with the flavor of the dry rub and pork spareribs. You just have to dip a juicy, tender rib, still slightly hot, in the sauce....even though you know you already have the BBQ sauce on the ribs. There is a noticeable difference with dipping. You will get a sweet peach undertone flavor not achieved with just brushing the ribs and caramelizing the sauce on the meat at the end. Trust me and give the Lip Smakin rib sauce an extra swipe!

Smokin Pit Bbq Ribs

Start Your Chimneys! Smoking pork spareribs is not hard to do if a person follows a few steps. Following the steps of legendary pitmasters never hurts! I am a late bloomer in the grilling world and I like the ease of weekend indirect heat grilling, having the luxury of picking the right meat, deciding on the right dry rub, and whether I will be using a homemade BBQ sauce or one of my favorite prepared BBQ sauces on the store shelf.

Classic Croissants

The key to baking croissants is to start with excellent butter. A person CAN tell the difference between regular store bought and European butter. These croissants are very light and flaky. Maybe not a weekly habit to bake but definitely a special occasion habit.
