Bagel Question

I have just started making bagels. So far I have 7 flavors. There was a bagel shop that provided free bagels to our elementary school. My daughter asked if I could make carrot bagels. I figure it was carrot cake flavor. My question is, with only 10 minutes of cooking do you think I can just mix in shredded carrots or ground up carrots? Or do I need to pre-cook the carrots before adding them to the dough? So, I am looking for anyone's opinion here.
