Jack N Coke Baked Beans

From one of my many little magazine recipe books...not sure which one! Had forgotten about it, until recent conversations about Jack Daniels! Always a hit. NEW NOTE: Made this with bacon the other day, because that's what I had, and we liked it better with bacon!!

Soda Jerk Beans

This recipe is from the July 2006 Bon Appetit. Why "soda jerk"? Because two kinds of pop lend the right dose of sweetness. The meat, various beans, tomatoes and bell peppers make for a colorful presentation. The first time I made it, I found the flavors great but it was also a bit sweet for my taste. The next time out, I cut the brown sugar amount in half, adjusted my spices somewhat and increased the cooking time to thicken the beans to my liking. I will include my changes with the recipe for comparison. It makes a lot - 10 cups - so invite some folks over for dinner. I'm sure you could use your crockpot to cook this or put the mix into a large casserole dish and into the stove. Enjoy.

Herb And Garlic Beans

Super-garlicky baked navy beans, cooked in white wine instead of the traditional tomato sauce. Don't worry, the garlic mellows during cooking.

Lorraines Family BBQ Baked Beans

Oh these are simple & oh these are great! These start with canned pork & beans and 3 other ingredients. Lorraine is a family member, She always brought these to our family reunion every year and to our Family holiday get together at a local hall that had to be rented to have our event. I begged her year after year for this. Finally she sent me a post card after a family reunion saying she was ashamed to give it to me it was so simple. They are thick, sweet and full of bacon. I mean come on people this doesn’t get any easier to jazz up a can of baked beans and make them Yummy! Trust me these are YUMMY!
