Roast Turkey With Gravy

Christmas is a-coming, turkey time for us Brits! My foolproof way of cooking turkey for 4 -6 hungry folks.

More guests? The size of turkey can be increased, just use the 20 mins. per lb. + 20 minutes rule and it will be fine!

Russian Birds Milk Cake

Bird's milk is a type of custard/cream. This Russian recipe uses a lemon flavoured Bird's milk custard, made with Farina hot cereal (or cream of wheat). One of my favourite cakes. This one is tried and true.

Braised Pheasant

My mom and I created this fruity recipe for dinner tonight... it's a delicious and very flavourful meal when served over fluffy rice. The pheasant gets sweet and perfectly tender, and the sauce is out of this world!

Lemongrass Pork With Vietnamese Table Salad

Great for a summer party, this recipe doubles easily, and most of the elements can be done ahead. This dish exemplifies the lively and engaging nature of the Vietnamese table - the ritual of wrapping meats in crisp lettuce with fresh herbs, then dipping them into a zesty sauce. Provide each person with a little bowl of sauce, as well as the usual plate to make assembly easier. Enjoy. Recipe from Bon Appétit.

Southern Living Hummingbird Cake

Hummingbird Cake is such a lovely name that it makes you wonder its origin. Unfortunately, my research did not lead to an answer so we are still left wondering. It does seem plausible that it may have something to do with how sugary rich this cake is - just like the nectar that Hummingbirds love to feed on. Anyway, what we do know is that the recipe gained widespread popularity after it appeared in the February 1978 issue of Southern Living Magazine. We also know that the recipe was submitted by a Mrs. L. H. Wiggins of Greensboro North Carolina and consists of two layers of cake full of chopped pecans, crushed pineapple, and mashed bananas that are filled and frosted with a delicious cream cheese icing.

ChUeh ChAo Chi Ting Stir Fried Chicken In A Birds Nest

We used to have this in a restaurant in Houston. Have not been able to find the recipe until today. I can't wait to try and make it myself. You need special baskets to make the nest. One basket is smaller and fits into the bigger basket. I guessed on the prep time and cooking time.

Gourmet Bird Seed Goodies

I love to feed the birds, so I wanted to share this recipe, I hope you enjoy making these and watching the birds dine. I tried to put this under animal treats but it wouldn't give me a subcategory to choose from.
