Kake Udon

Udon is a type of thick wheat-flour noodle popular in Japanese cuisine.
Udon is usually served hot as noodle soup in a mildly flavoured broth, in its simplest form as kake udon, served in kakejiru made of dashi, soy sauce (shōyu), and mirin. It is usually topped with thinly chopped scallions. Other common toppings include tempura, often prawn or kakiage (a type of mixed tempura fritter), or abura age, a type of deep-fried tofu pockets seasoned with sugar, mirin, and soy sauce. A thin slice of kamaboko, a halfmoon-shaped fish cake, is often added. Shichimi can be added to taste.

Krumkake Cookies

No, it’s not pronounced “crumbcake”…it’s “kroom-kaka”! Krumkakes are a Scandinavian delicacy, much like a little waffle cone. You can fill them with whipped cream or anything you like, but they’re so good all alone, why bother? This year I started dipping just the rim in melted white or dark chocolate for a little "jazz" to the plain cone. Our favorite, though, is still "just as is"...crispy with a hint of cardamom and cinnamon.

Philadelphia Tandykakes

I grew up in Philly and Tasty Kake was what I ran to the the corner store for instead of penny candy growing up. Of course it was not a penny! Tasty Kakes has changed over the years and the cakes are smaller and don't taste nearly as good as they use too!! But they still beat out little debbies in taste and value.
I use to live in California and these little gems were hard to come by. My family use to ship them to me. But now they are pretty easy to come by. This was the closest I use to get to them and actually like this better now.
