Chocolate Tree-Baum Kuchen

Baum is German for Tree
My mom use to make a similar tree cake that consisted of many more layers than in this recipe. Each layer was baked and removed and the cooled layers were sandwiched with some kind of pastry cream . When the cake was cut, it was unique to look at and layers resembled the rings of a cut tree .
Many recipes have an apricot of chocloate glaze
This recipe comes from Dr Oetker Baking
Please use my posted International conversion chart, if you need help with measurements

German Chocolate Cherry Kuchen

Translated from the German and easy recipe for a chocolate cherry-kuchen,

Remember with any foreign recipe use the Net to find gram - ingredients and temp conversion chart. It's easy to use.

I also find a lot is left up to one such as for instance a glass jar of cherries. Of course I asuume the cherries are pitted and drained

Also with temp conversion I usually round off to American equivelent. We really for example dont bake say at 333 degrees so this could be say around 300F or even 325F etc.

If you bake long enough, you have an idea of the tempeature !

Candied Fruit Cobbler

I am sharing another unique unusual recipe from my mom. Mom got this recipe from a German lady who made this sweet biscuit-kuchen pastry studded with candied fruits. It was served around Christmas time. Not a true cobbler but because it was studded or cobbled with fruit it was called cobbler
Phot forth coming when I get a hold of candied fruit!
