Chunky Apple Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c mayonnaise*
  • 1 c sliced walnuts
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 c buttermilk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 c raisins
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 medium tart apples, peeled & sliced
  • 2 1/2 c all-purpose flour

Directions
  • Step #1 In a mixing bowl, buttermilk, sugar, mix the eggs, mayonnaise & vanilla.
  • Step #2 Combine the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda & salt; add to egg mixture & beat just until mixd.
  • Step #3 Fold in apples, raisins & walnuts.
  • Step #4 Spoon into two greased 8-in.
  • Step #5 x 4-in.
  • Step #6 x 2-in.
  • Step #7 loaf pans.
  • Step #8 Bake at 375 degrees F for 1 hr or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • Step #9 Cool for 10 mins before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
