Cinnamon Coffee Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 c white sugar
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • 2 tbsps ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 c sliced walnuts
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 c sour cream
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 c butter
  • 4 eggs

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Lightly grease one 10 inch tube pan.
  • Step #3 In a large mixing bowl cream together the butter or margarine & 2 c of the sugar until fluffy.
  • Step #4 Add the vanilla & the eggs one at time beating mixture well after each egg.
  • Step #5 Combine flour with baking powder & baking soda.
  • Step #6 Add alternately with sour cream to egg mixture.
  • Step #7 Beating just enough after each addition to keep batter smooth.
  • Step #8 Combine walnuts, cinnamon, & remaining 3/4 c of sugar.
  • Step #9 Spoon 1/3 of the batter into prepared pan, sprinkle with 1/3 of the walnut mixture.
  • Step #10 Repeat layers two more times.
  • Step #11 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 70 mins or until center is done.
  • Step #12 Let cake cool in pan for 10 mins then remove pan & let cake continue cooling on a wire rack.
