Cornbread Dressingi Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 (12 fluid oz) can evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 c sliced green onions
  • 2 (14 oz) cans chicken broth
  • 2 c sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 c sliced celery
  • 3 tbsps butter
  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 c cornmeal
  • 1 pinch dried parsley
  • 1/4 c vegetable oil
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Step #3 In a 9 inch iron skillet, white sugar, baking powder, mix cornmeal, 2 eggs, salt, evaporated milk & vegetable oil.
  • Step #4 Bake cornmeal mixture in the preheated oven 35 to 40 mins, or until lightly browned.
  • Step #5 Allow to cool.
  • Step #6 Crumble the cooled cornbread into a large bowl.
  • Step #7 Mix in remaining eggs, chicken broth, green onions, celery, mushrooms, butter, condensed cream of chicken soup, ground black pepper & dried parsley.
  • Step #8 Transfer the mixture to the prepared 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Step #9 Bake 45 mins in the preheated oven.
