Classic Pot Roast Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1/2 c water
  • 1 medium onion, cut into wedges
  • 2 lbs beef sirloin tip or bottom round roast
  • 2 medium carrots, cut into 2-inch chunks
  • 2 medium potatoes, cut into chunks
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can Italian stewed tomatoes, undrained

Directions
  • Step #1 Place meat in an ovenproof skillet or Dutch oven.
  • Step #2 Add the potatoes, carrots & onion.
  • Step #3 Sprinkle top with pepper.
  • Step #4 Top with tomatoes.
  • Step #5 Spread soup over meat.
  • Step #6 Pour water around vegetables.
  • Step #7 Cover & bake this at 325F degrees F for 1-1/2 hrs or until meat & vegetables are tender.
  • Step #8 Thicken cooking liquid if desired.
