Ingredients
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 c butter, softened
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 3 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 c confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tbsps milk
  • 2 (21 oz) cans cherry pie filling
  • GLAZE:
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large mixing bowl, cream butter & sugar.
  • Step #2 Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Step #3 Beat in the extracts.
  • Step #4 Combine flour & salt; add to the creamed mixture.
  • Step #5 Mix just until mixd.
  • Step #6 Spread 3 c batter into a greased 15-in.
  • Step #7 x 10-in.
  • Step #8 x 1-in.
  • Step #9 baking pan.
  • Step #10 Spread with pie filling.
  • Step #11 Drop the remaining batter by tspfuls over filling.
  • Step #12 Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Step #13 Cool on a wire rack.
  • Step #14 Combine the glaze ingredients; drizzle over bars.
