Pumpkin Date Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps ground cinnamon .
  • 1/3 c molasses .
  • Topping .
  • 2 c sugar .
  • 1 c sliced dates .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 1/4 c brown sugar .
  • 1 c applesauce .
  • 1 c sliced pecans .
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg .
  • 3 2/3 c flour .
  • 1 c canned pumpkin .
  • 1/2 c milk .
  • 2/3 c vegetable oil .
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder .
  • 3 eggs .
  • 1/4 c sliced pecans .
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 2 tsps baking soda

Directions
  • Step #1 In large mixing bowl, mix first 7 ingredients; mix well.
  • Step #2 Combine the flour, baking soda, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg & baking powder; slowly add to pumpkin mixture & mix well.
  • Step #3 Stir in dates & pecans.
  • Step #4 Pour into two greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pans.
  • Step #5 Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle it over batter.
  • Step #6 Bake at 350 for 55-65 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Step #7 Cool for 15 mins before removing from pans to wire racks.
