Chive Cheese Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/3 c snipped chives
  • 3 tsps baking powder
  • 3/4 c shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 c shortening
  • 3/4 c milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 In a bowl, baking powder, mix the flour, cream of tartar & salt.
  • Step #2 Cut in cheese & shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Step #3 Stir in milk & chives until moistened.
  • Step #4 Turn onto a lightly floured surface; carefully knead 8-10 times.
  • Step #5 Roll to 3/4-in.
  • Step #6 thickness; cut with a 2-1/2-in.
  • Step #7 biscuit cutter.
  • Step #8 Place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Step #9 Bake at 400F degrees F for 13-15 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #10 Serve warm.
