Maple Chiffon Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c maple syrup .
  • 2 tbsps cold water .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 1 tsp vanilla .
  • 2 egg yolks, well beaten .
  • 1/2 c milk .
  • 1 baked pie crust .
  • 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten .
  • 1 tbsp gelatin .
  • 1 c whipping cream

Directions
  • Step #1 Soak gelatin in cold water.
  • Step #2 Heat milk, maple syrup & salt in top of double boiler.
  • Step #3 SLowly add egg yolks.
  • Step #4 Add gelatin, stir this to dissolve & allow mixture to cool.
  • Step #5 Whip cream, flavour it with vanilla, & set half of it aside.
  • Step #6 Fold rest along with egg whites into the cooled custard.
  • Step #7 Pour into baked pie shell.
  • Step #8 Top with remaining whipped cream.
  • Step #9 Chill well.
