Bread Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 200 g bread .
  • salt, to taste .
  • 1 liter stock .
  • 1 tbsp flour .
  • cheese, grated (optional) .
  • 2 onions, sliced .
  • nutmeg, to taste .
  • 2 tbsps butter .
  • pepper, to taste

Directions
  • Step #1 Thinly slice bread.
  • Step #2 In a large skillet, melt butter, add sliced onion & bread slices.
  • Step #3 Turn bread slices & cook this until golden brown on both sides.
  • Step #4 When bread is browned, sprinkle with flour.
  • Step #5 Add stock, season this with salt, pepper & nutmeg & cook for approximately 20 mins.
  • Step #6 In a medium pan, strain the stock from the bread through a sieve & bring back to the boil.
  • Step #7 Serve with grated cheese.
