Dressing For A Crowd Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 2 lbs butter or margarine
  • 5 (1 lb) loaves day-old white bread, cubed
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 3 3/4 c chicken broth, divided
  • 1 1/2 tsps pepper
  • 1/2 c finely sliced onion
  • 2 1/2 c sliced celery
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 5 lbs pork sausage or sliced giblets, cooked & drained
  • 2 tsps rubbed sage

Directions
  • Step #1 Toss the bread cubes & sausage; set aside.
  • Step #2 In a saucepan over med-heat/flame, saute celery & onion in butter until tender.
  • Step #3 Remove from the heat.
  • Step #4 Stir in 3-3/4 c broth & seasonings; mix well.
  • Step #5 Pour over bread mixture; mix well.
  • Step #6 Add desired amount of remaining broth.
  • Step #7 Place mixture in four greased 3-qt.
  • Step #8 baking dishes.
  • Step #9 Cover & bake this at 325F degrees F for 1-1/4 hrs.
  • Step #10 Uncover & bake 15 mins longer or until heated through.
