Ingredients
  • 1 tsp sugar .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 c melted clarified butter (Ghee) .
  • 1 3/4 c milk .
  • 2 c flour, sifted .
  • 1/8 tsp saffron

Directions
  • Step #1 Sift flour with salt onto a large bowl.
  • Step #2 In 1 ½ tbsp of milk, dissolve the saffron & set it aside.
  • Step #3 The remaining milk should be heated carefully in a pot & the sugar should be dissolved in it.
  • Step #4 Allow the warmed milk to cool.
  • Step #5 After making a well in the flour, pour in the now cooler milk & mix together until a soft dough is formed.
  • Step #6 Cover up the dough with a warm damp cloth & set aside for 10 mins.
  • Step #7 Add a little of the melted butter to the dough, kneeding, until all of the butter is incorporated.
  • Step #8 Divide the dough into 12 parts, cover with a warm damp cloth & set aside for 10 mins.
  • Step #9 Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #10 Roll each part of the dough out with a rolling pin.
  • Step #11 They should be 6 inch circles.
  • Step #12 Using a fork, prick all over the circles.
  • Step #13 On a greased baking tray, bake for 4 mins, then brush them with the milk & saffron mixture & bake for another 4 mins.
  • Step #14 Eat with melted butter brushed on while still hot.
