Stuffed Pasta Shells Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves .
  • 1/2 lb mild Italian sausage .
  • 1/4 c grated parmesan cheese .
  • 1 tbsp butter .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1/2 c onions, sliced .
  • 1 c shredded mozzarella cheese .
  • 1/2 lb ground turkey .
  • 16 large pasta shells, cooked & drained .
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves .
  • 1 (19 oz) can tomato sauce

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Step #2 Heat butter in large skillet on medium high heat.
  • Step #3 Add onion & garlic & cook 4 mins or til tender.
  • Step #4 Add Italian sausage & ground turkey & cook 5 mins or til meat is brown.
  • Step #5 Add seasonings & 1/2 c of shredded cheese, & set aside.
  • Step #6 Spread half of pasta sauce on bottom of 9x13 baking pan.
  • Step #7 Stuff cooked shells with meat mixture.
  • Step #8 Place meat side down in prepared pan.
  • Step #9 Pour remaining sauce over shells.
  • Step #10 Cover up with foil wrap.
  • Step #11 Bake 25 mins.
  • Step #12 Remove foil wrap.
  • Step #13 Sprinkle top with remaining shredded cheese & parmesan cheese.
  • Step #14 Bake extra 5 mins til cheese is melted.
  • Step #15 NOTE: you can substitute lean ground beef for the ground turkey in this recipe.
