Maple Chiffon Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c finely sliced nuts .
  • 2 tsps maple flavoring .
  • 2 c all-purpose flour .
  • 3/4 c cold water .
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar .
  • 1/2 c salad oil .
  • 1 tbsp baking powder .
  • 3/4 c brown sugar .
  • 3/4 c white sugar .
  • 7 egg yolks .
  • 7 egg whites .
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large bowl, stir dry ingredients thoroughly.
  • Step #2 Make a well & add, the salad oil, in order, yolks, cold water & maple flavoring.
  • Step #3 Stir until smooth.
  • Step #4 In large bowl of electric mixer, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
  • Step #5 Gradually pour egg yolk mixture over egg whites.
  • Step #6 Fold carefully until just mixed.
  • Step #7 Gently fold in nuts.
  • Step #8 Pour into an angel food baking pan & bake for 1 hr at 350°F.
