Ingredients
cooked pasta, 4 servings worth (optional) or 4 cooked rice (optional) .
1/2 tsp italian seasoning .
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper .
1 (4 oz) can drained sliced mushrooms .
1/2 c white wine .
1 tsp kosher salt or sea salt .
1 tsp hot sauce .
2 (2 oz) envelopes lipton onion & mushroom soup mix .
1/2-1 c sliced onions .
1 lb ground venison .
2 tsps beef base .
2 c water .
1 tsp garlic powder
Directions
Step #1 Brown venison in 10-inch cast iron skillet; season this with salt, cayenne pepper, & garlic powder.
Step #2 When meat is almost done, add onions & mushrooms & let become translucent.
Step #3 In bowl, beef base, wine, water, mix soup mix, hot sauce, & Italian seasonings.
Step #4 Add to skillet once onions are done.
Step #5 Let simmer for 30 mins.
Step #6 Add pasta or rice during the last 5 mins of cooking time.
Step #7 **if you use egg noodles you could serve each with a dollop of sour cream if desired.
Step #8 or serve this with regular type pastas & sprinkle with a little parmesan cheese.
Step #9 Or just serve over some mashed potatoes & maybe top this with a little crisp fried bacon.
