Cornbread Dressing Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 hard-cooked eggs
  • 1 (12 oz) package put in the fridged biscuit dough
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried sage (optional)
  • 1 (8 oz) package corn bread mix
  • 2 (14.5 oz) cans chicken broth
  • 1 c sliced onion
  • 1/2 c butter, softened
  • 1 c sliced celery
  • 1/8 lb pork sausage

Directions
  • Step #1 Prepare biscuits (enough to make 4 c crumbled), & one 8x8 inch pan cornbread according to package directions.
  • Step #2 Cool & crumble.
  • Step #3 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #4 In a small pot, mix onion, celery, margarine & chicken broth.
  • Step #5 Bring to boil & cook vegetables until tender.
  • Step #6 In a 2-quart casserole dish, 4 c biscuit crumbs, sausage, mix 4 c crumbled cornbread, pepper, salt, sliced eggs & sage.
  • Step #7 Pour broth & vegetables over bread mixture, & stir until mixd.
  • Step #8 Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 mins.
