Basic Chapati Recipe Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 pinch salt .
  • 2 1/2 c atta flour, wheat flour can be Substituted .
  • 2 c water (or enough to make a dough)

Directions
  • Step #1 Mix flour & salt.
  • Step #2 Make a hole in flour & mix in water, making a dough.
  • Step #3 Knead for five mins, cover with wet cloth & refigerate for an hr.
  • Step #4 Heat a flat pan (non stick pans are not good for this as repeated use at high heats with no liquid tends to crack the teflon) until smoking hot.
  • Step #5 Roll out 1/2 a handful of dough into a flat round shape (3mm thick) & put into pan, cooking for 1 min either side.
  • Step #6 Once turned press carefully with a towel, until brown.
