Chocolate Macaroons Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 c shredded coconut
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c sliced walnuts
  • 3/4 c white sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 325F degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Grease cookie sheets.
  • Step #3 Melt chocolate over low heat/flame & let cool.
  • Step #4 In a large glass or metal bowl, whip egg whites until foamy.
  • Step #5 Slowly add salt & sugar a little at a time, until mixture stands in peaks.
  • Step #6 Stir in vanilla.
  • Step #7 Fold in chocolate, coconut & nuts.
  • Step #8 Drop by tspfuls about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
  • Step #9 Bake 10 to 12 mins.
  • Step #10 Cookies should be soft in the center.
