Crowned Beef Bake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 c frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cream of celery soup, undiluted
  • 1 (7.5 oz) package put in the fridged buttermilk biscuits
  • 1 tsp celery seed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 (2.8 oz) can French fried onions, crumbled, divided
  • 1 (4 oz) can mushroom stems & pieces, drained

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large skillet, cook beef over med-heat/flame until no longer pink; drain.
  • Step #2 Place half in a greased 2-qt.
  • Step #3 baking dish.
  • Step #4 Layer with mushrooms, two-thirds of the onions & all of the vegetables.
  • Step #5 Top with remaining beef.
  • Step #6 In a saucepan, mix soup & 1/2 c sour cream; cook over low heat/flame until heated through.
  • Step #7 Pour over beef.
  • Step #8 Cut each biscuit in half; arrange cut side down around edge of dish.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top remaining onions in center of casserole.
  • Step #10 Combine egg, celery seed, salt & remaining sour cream; drizzle over biscuits.
  • Step #11 Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees F for 25-30 mins or until golden brown.
