Deep Fried Oysters Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3/4 c fine bread crumbs
  • 12 oz shucked oysters, drained
  • 2 quarts vegetable oil for deep frying

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Combine flour, salt & black pepper.
  • Step #3 Dredge oysters in flour mixture, dip in egg & roll in bread crumbs.
  • Step #4 Carefully slide oysters into hot oil.
  • Step #5 Cook five at a time until golden brown, about 2 mins.
  • Step #6 Drain briefly on paper towels.
  • Step #7 Serve hot.
