Sugar-and-spice Nuts Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp Sweet Spice Blend
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 1 lb pecan halves*
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp water

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl; set aside.
  • Step #2 Beat egg white & 1 tbsp water in a medium bowl using a handheld egg beater or a wire whisk until foamy.
  • Step #3 (No liquid should remain.
  • Step #4 ) Add pecans, stirring until evenly coated.
  • Step #5 Add pecans to sugar mixture, stirring until evenly coated.
  • Step #6 Place pecans in a single layer on a buttered 15- x 10-inch jelly-roll pan.
  • Step #7 Bake at 275° for 50 to 55 mins, stirring every 15 mins.
  • Step #8 Spread as soon as possible in a single layer on wax paper; cool completely.
  • Step #9 Store in an airtight container.
  • Step #10 *Whole almonds or walnut halves may be substituted.
