Easy Cheddar Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/3 c shortening
  • 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1 c (4 oz) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Pulse first 4 ingredients in a food processor/blender 4 or 5 times or until dry ingredients are thoroughly mixd.
  • Step #2 Add shredded cheese & shortening, & pulse 4 or 5 times or until mixture is crumbly.
  • Step #3 With processor running, slowly add milk, & process until dough forms a ball & leaves sides of bowl.
  • Step #4 Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; shape into a ball.
  • Step #5 Pat or roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2-inch round cutter, & place on baking sheets.
  • Step #6 Bake biscuits in 2 batches at 425° for 10 mins or until golden.
