Chai Tea Mini Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c powdered sugar
  • 2 c self-rising flour
  • 1 c 2% reduced-fat milk
  • 3 tbsps granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c chilled butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 regular-size chai tea bags

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook milk in a small nonaluminum saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring once, 2 to 3 mins or just until bubbles appear (do not boil); remove this from heat.
  • Step #2 Add tea bags; cover & steep 5 mins.
  • Step #3 Remove & discard tea bags from milk, squeezing carefully.
  • Step #4 Stir together granulated sugar, cinnamon, & flour In a large-ish bowl.
  • Step #5 Cut in butter with a pastry mixer or a fork until crumbly.
  • Step #6 Add 3/4 c milk mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • Step #7 Reserve remaining milk mixture for later use.
  • Step #8 Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; knead lightly 4 to 5 times with floured hands.
  • Step #9 Pat dough to 3/4-inch thickness; cut with a 1 1/2-inch round cutter.
  • Step #10 Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Step #11 Bake at 400° for 6 to 7 mins or until golden.
  • Step #12 Let stand 5 mins.
  • Step #13 Whisk together reserved 1 Tbsp.
  • Step #14 milk mixture & powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Step #15 Drizzle over warm biscuits.
