Mark's Basic Pizza Dough Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp olive oil .
  • 1 tbsp salt .
  • 3 c warm water (110 F) .
  • 7-8 c unbleached all-purpose flour .
  • 2 (1/4 oz) packages yeast .
  • 3 tbsps sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Pour warm water into large mixing bowl.
  • Step #2 Add yeast, sugar & salt & mix until dissolved.
  • Step #3 Begin adding flour.
  • Step #4 When half of the flour (3-4 c) is mixed in add olive oil.
  • Step #5 Mix until all the olive oil is absorbed.
  • Step #6 Add remaining flour (3-4 c) & mix until soft dough forms.
  • Step #7 Kneed for 5-10 mins to make a soft & pliable, but not sticky, dough.
  • Step #8 Add flour as needed to prevent sticking.
  • Step #9 Cut dough into sections according to how many pizzas you'll be making.
  • Step #10 Roll into balls & let rise separately, covered on a floured surface for 30-45 mins until almost doubled.
  • Step #11 Roll or toss dough to size & thickness desired.
  • Step #12 Place on greased round or square cookie sheet.
  • Step #13 Top with desired sauce, cheese, & toppings.
  • Step #14 Let rest until oven heats up to 450°F.
  • Step #15 Bake for 15-45 mins according to choice of thickness & toppings.
