Deer Jerky Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp onion salt
  • 4 tbsps soy sauce
  • 4 tbsps Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsps liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1 lb boneless venison roast
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Slice meat into long strips, 1 inch wide & 1/8 inch thick.
  • Step #2 In a large releasable plastic bag, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, mix soy sauce, liquid smoke, pepper, ketchup, onion salt & salt.
  • Step #3 Place meat in, & close bag.
  • Step #4 Refrigerate overnight.
  • Step #5 Knead every once in awhile, to evenly distribute marinade.
  • Step #6 Preheat oven to 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
  • Step #7 Place a pan on the bottom of oven to catch drips, or line with aluminum foil.
  • Step #8 Place meat strips on a rack so that they do not touch each other, & dehydrate for 6 to 8 hrs in the oven, or until desired consistency is achieved.
