Coconut Cherry Dump Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (18 1/4 oz) package yellow cake mix .
  • 3/4 c butter, melted .
  • 1/2 c grated frozen unsweetened coconut, thawed .
  • vanilla ice cream, for serving .
  • 1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple, undrained .
  • 1 c sliced pecans .
  • 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees (if using a glass baking pan lower oven temperature to 325F degrees).
  • Step #2 Make sure the rack is in the center position.
  • Step #3 Spoon the pineapple evenly over the bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9" pan.
  • Step #4 Add the layer of cherry filling over the pineapple.
  • Step #5 Add the dry cake mixture, spread evenly so that it reaches all sides of the pan.
  • Step #6 Drizzle the entire pan with melted butter.
  • Step #7 Sprinkle top the coconut & pecans evenly over the top of the cake.
  • Step #8 Bake 55 to 60 mins, until the cake is a deep brown & a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Step #9 Cool on a wire rack for 10 mins.
