Step #1 In large saucepan cook potatoes in 2 inches boiling water, covered, about 10 mins until tender; drain thoroughly, then shake potatoes over low heat/flame 1 to 2 mins to dry thoroughly.
Step #2 Mash potatoes with potato masher or beat with electric hand mixer; reserve.
Step #3 Place milk, butter & garlic in small saucepan; set over medium-low heat & let simmer until heated through, beat into potatoes until thoroughly mixed & fluffy.
Step #4 Mix in extra milk, if necessary, to reach desired consistency.
