Chocolate Snaps Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 tsps baking soda
  • 1/2 c butter, softened
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c white sugar
  • 2 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c corn syrup
  • 1 2/3 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt chocolate chips over heat & let cool.
  • Step #2 Combine flour, baking soda & salt.
  • Step #3 Set aside.
  • Step #4 With an electric mixer set at medium-lowish speed, beat butter & sugar until fluffy.
  • Step #5 Add vanilla, corn syrup & egg & continue beating until well mixd.
  • Step #6 Reduce mixer speed to low & beat in melted chocolate.
  • Step #7 Add flour mixture & continue beating until well mixd.
  • Step #8 Refrigerate until firm, about 30 mins.
  • Step #9 Shape dough into approximately 1 inch balls & roll in extra sugar.
  • Step #10 Put on ungreased baking sheets about 1 inch apart.
  • Step #11 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until edges are lightly browned, 10 to 15 mins.
  • Step #12 Let stand on baking sheets 1 min before removing to wire racks to cool.
