Creamy String Bean Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/4 c water
  • 4 potatoes, sliced
  • 1 (15 oz) can cut green beans
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsps distilled white vinegar
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 2 tbsps all-purpose flour
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook potatoes in salted water.
  • Step #2 When half done, vinegar, add beans, pepper & garlic (spear on toothpick for easy finding).
  • Step #3 Add onion.
  • Step #4 Simmer until potatoes are done.
  • Step #5 Remove garlic glove.
  • Step #6 Combine the flour & 1/4 c water & make a smooth paste.
  • Step #7 Thicken soup with the flour paste.
  • Step #8 Remove from heat.
  • Step #9 Slowly stir in the sour cream.
  • Step #10 Do not cook any further.
  • Step #11 Stir in cooked & sliced Mettwurst or other German sausage just before serving.
