Step #1 Combine marinade ingredients in an 8-inch baking dish.
Step #2 Set aside.
Step #3 Score tempeh on both sides, making diagonal cuts 1/4-inch deep & 1/4 inch apart.
Step #4 Repeat in the opposite direction to form a diamond pattern.
Step #5 Scoring helps the tempeh to absorb the marinade.
Step #6 Cut the tempeh into 6 portions then spread out in marinade dish & turn coating evenly.
Step #7 Cover up dish & marinate for 2 to 6 hrs while turning pieces frequently.
Step #8 Heat olive oil then using a slotted spatula, lift tempeh from marinade place this in skillet & brown for 1 to 2 mins on each side over high heat.
Step #9 Remove to a serving dish & set aside.
Step #10 Pour remaining marinade into the skillet & add pineapple with its juice & the green onions.
Step #11 Bring to a boil.
Step #12 Combine cornstarch & water in a small c or bowl & pour this into boiling pineapple mixture a little at a time, until thickened to desired consistency, stirring constantly, about 1 min.
Step #13 Pour over browned tempeh.
Step #14 For Valentines Day or romantic dinner:.
Step #15 Using a cookie or canape cutter, cut 3 large hearts & 2 small hearts from the bell pepper, & dice about 1/4 c of remaining red bell pepper.
Step #16 Decorate plate with parsley & arrange the hearts attractively just before serving.
