Conga Squares Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 2/3 c vegetable oil
  • 2 c packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c sliced walnuts
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 c semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsps water

Directions
  • Step #1 In mixing bowl: measure 2 c brown sugar, vegetable oil, & eggs.
  • Step #2 Cream on medium for 3 mins.
  • Step #3 Add vanilla.
  • Step #4 Slowly add white flour & baking powder & salt.
  • Step #5 Add baking soda mixed in hot water separately.
  • Step #6 Add chocolate chips, & walnuts if desired.
  • Step #7 (Or substitute coconut, nuts, or butterscotch chips.
  • Step #8 ) Pour batter into a 14 x 17 inch pan.
  • Step #9 Bake for 10 mins at 400F degrees F (205 degrees C) until just golden.
  • Step #10 Take out of oven just before you think they are done.
  • Step #11 They cool in the pan.
  • Step #12 Cut & serve.
  • Step #13 Try nutmeg & lemon flavoring for variety, reduce lemon to 1 tsp.
