Deep Fried Lobster Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 quarts oil for deep frying
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 2 c cornmeal
  • 1 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 4 lbs fresh lobster tails, cleaned & halved but still in shell
  • salt & pepper to taste

Directions
  • Step #1 In a gallon sized plastic closeable bag mix, cornmeal, pepper, cayenne, salt, flour, garlic powder & onion powder.
  • Step #2 Shake well.
  • Step #3 Place one half of a lobster tail at a time in to the bag.
  • Step #4 Shake to coat the tails completely.
  • Step #5 Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skilled to 365 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Step #6 Place one coated lobster tail at a time into the oil.
  • Step #7 Cook until the lobster turns white & the coating is lightly browned.
  • Step #8 Let the fried tails dry on paper towels.
