Soft Custard Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c white sugar (I use a little less) .
3 eggs or 6 egg yolks .
1/2 tsp vanilla .
2 c milk

Directions

Step #1 Scald together milk & sugar.
Step #2 Beat eggs until light.
Step #3 Gradually whisk a little of the hot milk into eggs.
Step #4 When eggs are warm enough that they will not cook when added to the hot milk slowly whisk eggs into the rest of milk.
Step #5 Cook over low heat/flame, stirring constantly until custard coats a metal spoon.
Step #6 Remove from heat & add vanilla.
