Ingredients
  • 1 tsp baking powder .
  • lemon curd, for serving .
  • sweetened whipped cream, for serving .
  • 1 c milk .
  • 1 tsp ground ginger .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves .
  • 2 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1/2 c vegetable oil .
  • maple syrup, for serving .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1 c molasses, warmed slightly (aids mixing) .
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon & cloves.
  • Step #2 In a medium bowl, milk, mix molasses, egg & oil.
  • Step #3 Add egg mixture to flour mixture; stir until well mixd (add a little more milk, if needed).
  • Step #4 Bake in preheated , non-stick or greased waffle iron until golden brown.
  • Step #5 Serve with whipped cream, lemon curd, & maple syrup.
