Corn And Potato Chowder Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 quarts water
  • 2 1/2 (15 oz) cans whole kernel corn
  • 2 c non-dairy creamer
  • 4 stalks celery, sliced thin
  • 1 c water
  • 2 tsps onion powder
  • 7 tbsps all-purpose flour
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 potatoes, peeled & sliced
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
  • 6 slices bacon, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 onion, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Render bacon in a skillet & set aside.
  • Step #2 In a stockpot add the water, onion, celery & potatoes.
  • Step #3 If desired, add 2 sliced carrots.
  • Step #4 Boil until tender.
  • Step #5 Add the non-dairy creamer, stirring constantly.
  • Step #6 Add the corn, onion powder, chicken soup base, salt, pepper & cooked bacon.
  • Step #7 Bring mixture to a boil.
  • Step #8 Whisk together the flour & the 1 c water & slowly add this mixture, stirring constantly.
  • Step #9 Cook over med-heat/flame until slightly thickened.
  • Step #10 Ladle into bowls & serve.
