Hot Fruit Compote Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c orange juice .
  • 1 (20 oz) can pineapple chunks, drained .
  • 1 (16 oz) can peach slices, drained .
  • 1/2 c brown sugar, packed .
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves .
  • 2 tbsps lemon juice .
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg .
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 10 maraschino cherries (optional) .
  • 1 (16 oz) can sliced pears, drained .
  • 1 (11 oz) can mandarin orange segments, drained .
  • 1/4 c unsalted butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Step #2 Combine first 4 ingredients in a 1 1/2 quart casserole.
  • Step #3 In saucepan, mix rest of ingredients except maraschino cherries.
  • Step #4 Heat & stir until sugar is dissolved & butter melted.
  • Step #5 Pour over fruit & bake 25 mins until heated.
  • Step #6 If desired, garnish with cherries & serve.
